Chief Network Architect
Lee is our Chief Network Architect and is responsible for the overall transmission design of the APX Network.
Prior to joining SubPartners, Lee was the Engineering Manager for TPG Telecom’s Network engineering division where he was responsible for managing the Transmission, Voice and Data engineering teams. Lee was also part of the project team that delivered the PPC1 cable system in 2009 and more recently was responsible for the design and deployment of the technology upgrade in 2012 that saw PPC1 capable of delivering in excess of 6Tbps across the two fibre pairs and also included Australia’s first commercially available international 100 Gbps service offering.
Lee previously worked with Level 3 Communications. He joined them in 1999 and from the start of their European organisation led the Operations Engineering team predominantly responsible for the technical aspects & quality control of their European high speed optical transport backbone and TransAtlantic Ultra Longhaul submarine transmission systems.
With nearly 20 years global telecoms industry experience, 15 years of which have been in operations and engineering leadership positions with significant internet backbone network operator organisations, Lee’s career history demonstrates extensive high capacity data network system engineering experience with a complete appreciation of client access technology and applicable engineering body standards relating to optical fibre based communications systems.
